Practicing without an account
- No account, email, or password is required to practice.
- Your answers, accuracy, bookmarks, mistake list, and pacing history are stored only in this browser's local storage, on this device.
- Nothing about your practice history is sent to TSI Practice Prep or to anyone else while practicing without an account.
Optional student account
Creating a free account (or "Continue on This Device Only") is optional and is only used to keep your progress available across devices. When cloud sync is configured by the site owner, the email address, encrypted password (handled entirely by Firebase Authentication, never seen in plain text by TSI Practice Prep), first name, and grade you enter are stored to enable that sync. Choosing "Continue on This Device Only" instead stores your first name and grade locally, with no password and no account created anywhere.
Teacher Classroom / live sessions
Joining a class code shares only your first name, last initial, and grade with your teacher's session, plus your in-session answers, timing, and any focus/fullscreen warnings if your teacher has enabled Secure Timed Mode. In the default local-demo mode this data is relayed directly between browser tabs on your device and is not stored on a server. If the site owner has configured cloud sync, the same session data instead relays through that sync provider for the duration of the session.
Ads, analytics & cookies
- TSI Practice Prep may show ads served by Google AdSense to help keep practice free. Ads are off by default for every visitor and only turn on for your visit if you accept in the cookie banner.
- TSI Practice Prep may also use Google Analytics to understand aggregate, anonymized traffic and usage patterns (e.g. which pages are visited, roughly how many people practice each exam) — never your individual practice answers, mistakes, or account data, which stay covered by the sections above. Analytics is off by default for every visitor and only turns on for your visit if you accept, and your IP address is anonymized when it is on.
- When ads or analytics are on, Google (and, for ads, its advertising partners) may set cookies or similar technology in your browser to show ads, measure how they perform, or measure site usage. This is separate from, and never affects, your local practice history or account data.
- You choose whether to accept these cookies the first time you visit, and you can change your mind anytime with the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer — declining keeps both ads and analytics off for your visit.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising directly through Google at adssettings.google.com, or through the industry-wide opt-out at optout.aboutads.info. You can opt out of Google Analytics across sites using Google's browser opt-out add-on.
- TSI Practice Prep does not knowingly show personalized ads to children, consistent with Google AdSense's policies for sites whose audience may include users under 13.
What TSI Practice Prep never does
TSI Practice Prep does not sell practice data, does not share individual student responses with advertisers, and does not report practice scores to any school, college, or testing organization.
